Palm Trees rarely produce anything that could remotely be called wood.

Instead, the trunks of most palms more closely resemble rope than wood.

An exception is the Black Palm of Southeast Asia which produces this unique wood that has such a regular and symmetrical grain pattern that resembles no other wood.

The top is vaulted on the inside.

Finished with polished lacquer, it is leather lined.
